The Calhoun Stables hosted the first stop in the Ultimate Rodeo Tour in Kitchener-Woolwich on July 10 in support of the Canadian Diabetes Association. Cowboys and cowgirls from all over Canada and the United States came to compete in front of a sold out audience! Joe Courville came on top of the Bareback riding, while Peter Hallman took top score in Saddlebronc riding. The 2014 RAM Rodeo Barrel Racing Champion, Barb Millar had the fastest time in the Ladies Barrel Racing running in 15.31 seconds, while Olivia De Jong was champion in Junior Barrel racing event! Jesse Peidl came on top in rodeo's most dangerous event, Bull Riding!
The Chatham -Kent Crime Stoppers hosted the CASE IH Ultimate Rodeo Tour on July 13. With a sold out crowd, the Cowboys and Cowgirls put on a great show! The competition in Ladies Barrel Racing was tremendous, with only a tenth of a second separating the top 3 runs. Ashley Bull continued to strengthen her lead in there tour with a win, with Barb Millar and Terri Robertson right behind. Junior Barrels also rose to the occasion with Christian Subject taking home a win! The Bulls continue to gain strength proving to be a hand full for the contestants in Bull Riding, with Brady Feurth winning the Junior Bulls. 3P Ranch of Michigan brought bucking horses and put on a show, with Trevor Van Alstine winning Bareback and Andrew Sephton taking Saddle Bronc honours. Congratulations goes out to Olivia De Jong for winning Youth Pole Bending.
